The Pines was established in Central Virginia in 1798 with the first home construction. The original dwelling burned in the 1930's. The existing home was rebuilt on the original foundation and has been added onto several times.

Our family purchased the farm of 240 acres in the 1950's. Since that time the house has been fully remodeled, barns have been built and remodeled and 43 acres has been added. The farm at different times has raised beef cattle, hogs, chickens, tobacco, hay, grains and timber.

Currently, we are concentrating on beef cattle, sport horses and quality hay. We are excited about the sport horse aspect and our wonderful Friesian stallion, Volkert.
